New Acer PocketPC with Windows Mobile 5

I wouldn't touch an ACER with a barge-pole. I recently had an AcerN35 pda with GPS built in bought for me through work. It was shoddily put together and performed a hard reset when power was attached. The power socket in the base had to be fiddled with to get a supply through. Cheaply built.

Also, when I tried to return the item to our supplier they were informed by Acer that there is a ONE day rtb on DOA! One day!???

Buyer beware!

Yeah, the reason I think this is a big deal is form factor and power. Even with the advent of converged devices, there will be some (business and personal) people that will want the flexibility of dual devices. Slim form factors make for more pocketable devices and if something is small enough and light enough, it will be more apt to be carried without an afterthought. What's more important is that a company (get the hint HP) is starting to push the envelope and provide power and form factor - something HP departed from as soon as they dumped the 4150. The rz1900 is a lame attempt at bringing it back. Compare the specs of this device vs the 1900 and you'll see what I mean.
