hw6700 shows up on video slide on HP UK site

Interesting that Hewlett Packard UK site has now shown the unannounced hw6700.. This unit according to the site will feature Windows Mobile 5, Intel PXA 270 processor, 192 MB total Memory (128 ROM and 64 SDRAM) .. GPRS/GSM/EDGE with 802.11g.. One thing that is a bit wierd is that HP now shows GPS also on this device..

You can find the entire presentation here

Can anyone give some more details about the Ipaq 67xx. Does it has WiFi, Edge, what CPU -important to use Skype-,camera, thk, would help to make a decission for my wife's next toy. Any idea for the release?
The presentation link above prompted me for a user name and password which I don't have.
yeah, those marketing people always blunder up slides when it comes to technical facts (from ANY company, not just HP)
I currently have the 6315 and will replace it with the 6715 when it comes out! Gee, if only it was available now! Yesterday, I requested the unlock code for the 6315 so that when I do replace it, I will be able to sell it from something!
I don't know this just seems sus to me. That is quite a memory hike, gprs, gps bt and wifi and wifi at G seems quite a package.... there is no 2005SE

It seems like an amazing PDA to announce when the 6515 is only really out... ok it is 5 months away but all that in one pack ?

For Web access, does the unit automatically choose WiFi over GPRS or EDGE given it's generally the more economical option? The connectivity of this unit seems so complete (Quad GSM/GPRS/EDGE/802.11g/Bluetooth) that I hesitate to request HP to add one more: maybe UMTS. Japan and S.Korea where I go does not support what the rest of the world supports so UMTS would be the closest to allowing this unit to connect.
In case anyone didnt notice, there is now a dedicated 6700 forum. http://davesipaq.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=87
So much for the SanDisk Ultra II SD card. (with built in USB Adapter) http://davesipaq.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8037
I hope they make a mini version. It might be to small though.
well, oh, well. Here it comes. Certainly wouldn't have bought the 63xx. Seriously thought about buying the 65xx. Just might be satisfied with the 67xx. We'll see. For now I'll stick to my ipaq 47xx and my motorola v600 cell. I don't have much spare time. Some of you must buy these devices as a hobby. Either that or you enjoy the thrill of frustration. I just need one that works right away. No gimicks, no tricks, no gliches, just works good. High quality, no drama, decent price. Sometimes I wonder why they crank these things out so fast without concern that they function correctly. Don't they know what we want. If they just read davesipaq for a week they could build the perfect unit. the people have spoken and spoken and spoken. Listening would help. Sorry had to get that off my chest. all that said hope the 67xx is a great unit. Go HP, Go! You can build a stable non-frustrating unit we know you can.
Hi iPAQitNGo, Can you tell us if the hw6715 you are using have two extra hardware buttons for WM5's two software buttons? Does the two software buttons show up in every program?

Thanks
It's just like when everyone switched from CF (CompactFlash) to SD several years back. That kind of tweaked me at first too. We'll get used to miniSD after some growing pains. ;-) 1GB is availalbe now, and I think 2gig miniSD cards are on the way. I'm ready to make the switch when the time comes.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! What are we supposed to do with all our SD memory cards with material to view and listen to on our IPAQ?
There seem to be several discrepancies in the above slides: 1. QVGA Screen ??? 2. User above says 520MHz and slide says 312MHz. 3. WME 2005 Second Edition? We don't have a first edition yet. 4. Available now??? Really..
Wasn't someone just recently asking when built-in Wifi in PDAs will start to use 802.11g. I guess we now know.
If you think about it, what options are necessary to have for the SD slot if the device already has wifi, bt? Sure, more memory options are available for SD but mini-sd is coming on strong.
I can confirm that the hw6700 is indeed real. Although I found setup of the device a bit confusing (probably due to having to follow Beta setup instructions), the hw6700 was gloriously easy to use once I got everything going. Even though it's a Camera/Phone/GPS/PocketPC all rolled into one, navigating around was so easy that I didn't have to refer to the manual even once (the complete electronic documentation is also onboard the device by the way). Using the built-in QWERTY keyboard made everything so much easier to use -- from dialing phone numbers to entering URL addresses. Also, I was completely blown away when I watched a streaming video in WIDESCREEN mode and with stunning sound on its included Windows MediaPlayer 10. All of the above and the ability to Bluetooth/WiFi/GPRS/GSM too? I think I just scratched the MotoQ off of my holiday shopping list.

BTW: the unit I tested had a 520 Mhz processor, 128Mb ROM and Windows Mobile 5.0
It's always just one little thing that holds me back though. I really wish this thing had a 320x320 screen....
Looks like I will be buying another ipaq. I will have to pass my 6500 on. I don't thing the speed is an issue. The only time there has been some slow down problems with the 6500 is when watching video and listening with bluetooth headphones. Bummer on the mini-sd just when regular sd options are getting interesting (4gigs etc).
If its real and available by December I would wait and buy it from the UK HP be damned. Also did anyone else notice the PXA270, its still 312mHz and not the higher speed processor as rumored.
If they have to loose an expansion slot, it should have been the Mini SD slot. Not enough options available for the Mini SD slot yet.
It is a relief to see this - maybe there is hope by Christmas??!!! I wish they'd released that in the first place though!
Love the extra memory too, and WM5 is essential for my plans..
Looks like we loose the SD slot and gain WiFi. that is a fair trade off.
