Join Date: Oct 2001 Posts: 4 | Mike, Just did mine last night with no trouble at all. As I recall, just make sure to hold down the power switch around 8 sec–long enough for it to flash something like 8 times. Then just go to the Bluetooth Manager in the 6315 and select the new connection option for headsets and pair the devices (this from memory–consult the Jabra manual for particulars). Hope that helps. I went from store to store trying headsets. They all do it. i found an inconvienient work around. answer the call. Quickly click on the headset icon in task bar. transfer the call to your phone, click on icon again to send it back to headset. now it will be normal. Another is to go to headset preferences and uncheck telephone calls, and check standard audio. when phone rings press answer on ipaq, then click headset to transfer to headset. This will work too, but you lose the answer/hang up function on headset. |

Join Date: Aug 2004 Posts: 6 | Still no answer? I’ve been trying to figure out how the Motorola HS810 works. I got both devices paired and works fine but once I close the boom on the HS810 and open back up it doesn’t connect anymore. I have to go through the pairing procedure again to have it paired. Also, right after I paired the devices I can only make calls but not take calls. Any idea? Much thanks! Wayne |

Did you make sure that your device is ready to connect? Is the blue LED lit ready to be connected? I tried my first HS810 all day long, followed the exact setup steps. I finally came up with an conclusion: a defect product. I went to Best Buy for exchange, tried the new one and worked great. If you did follow exactly step-by-step according to the user manual, I suggest you get an exchange and try. The problem with the HS810 (I believe the HS820 also has the same problem, too) is that the way the earphone is designed it feels loose all the time. The volume is also too low especially if you are outside near a street where cars are running. I asked myself: “The design of both HS810 and HS820 may appear in a fashionable way, the purpose of having a Bluetooth earphone is to be able to hear it clearly instead of looks good on me. Correct?” I decided to made my second exchange for a Jabra FreeSpeak 250 which I should have gotten the first time. The design of the earphone has an ear bud stuff in your ear and the earphone hangs to the back of your ear. The volume is clear and so loud that I had to turn it down. I’m glad I made the right decision. Wayne

Like many others I also have some problems with the Motorola HS810. In about 30% of the phone calls the person on the other end says they can’t hear me well enough to have a conversation. Usually calling back or having the person call me back corrects the problem. The BT device will loose its connection when the mic flap is closed. It usually requires going to the wireless utilities page to turn the BT function off and on. On some occasions a soft reset is required.
