ASRock Unveils Multiple Motherboards for Arrow Lake-S Processors Based on Intel Z890

At the Computex 2024 exhibition, ASRock showcased an array of new motherboards equipped with the Intel Z890 chipset and LGA 1851 motherboard socket. These new additions are designed for the forthcoming Core Ultra 200 (Arrow Lake-S) processors set to hit the market in the fourth quarter of this year.

Flagship Taichi Motherboards

The manufacturer presented several flagship Taichi motherboards at the exhibition, which includes models specifically designed for overclocking and a variant supporting DDR5 RAM in the new CAMM2 format modules.

Taichi Lite Series

ASRock also revealed the latest version of the budget-friendly Taichi Lite motherboard. The new model retains many of the features and capabilities of its more advanced counterparts, but with a simpler design. It boasts an enhanced VRM power subsystem and a high-quality audio codec.

Z890 Taichi Aqua model

In addition, ASRock unveiled the Z890 Taichi Aqua model. This white printed board features VRM radiators capable of connecting to the water cooling system (WCS). This WCS support is also offered for the top M.2 2280 connector for PCIe 5.0 NVMe storage devices.

Various USB ports of the model

The Z890 Taichi Aqua stands out due to the complete absence of USB 3.0 Type-A ports, being replaced by numerous USB Type-C and USB 2.0 ports. Two of the present Type-C ports support the Thunderbolt 4 interface with a bandwidth of 40 gigabits per second.

Overclocking with Z890 Taichi OCF

Intended for overclocking, the Z890 Taichi OCF (OC Formula) model is set to compete with similar models like the Gigabyte Aorus Tachyon and Asus ROG Maximus Apex. In addition to an enhanced VRM power subsystem, the new model offers features that will be beneficial for overclocking components, such as supporting a configuration of one DIMM per channel for maximum overclocking potential for the RAM.

The base model Z890 Taichi offers a balance between overclocking capabilities, external peripheral connectivity, and other premium features for building a high-performance gaming PC.

Phantom Gaming Series

In terms of more affordable models, ASRock showcased motherboards from the Z890 Phantom Gaming series, including the feature-rich Nova model with numerous radiators, M.2 NVMe slots, and premium sound; the Z890 Phantom Gaming Riptide model, which is a step down from Nova; and the budget-friendly Z890 Phantom Gaming Lightning WiFi model.
