The tech company, Sabrent, has introduced a new line of solid-state drives (SSDs), named the Rocket 5 series. These will operate on the PCIe 5.0 standard and will be formatted in M.2 2280 NVMe. The series will consist of SSD models with storage capacities of 1, 2, and 4 Terabytes. They will be available both with and without a cooling radiator system, which features a compact 20mm fan for efficient heat dissipation.
The Rocket 5 is deemed by Sabrent to be their fastest SSD series yet. The drives utilize an optimized flagship controller from Phison, the PS5026-E26 Max14, coupled with Micron’s 232-layer B58R flash memory chips. Furthermore, the SSDs are outfitted with LPDDR4 cache memory.
While the manufacturer has not specified the performance level for each SSD model in the Rocket 5 series, they have noted that the new products provide sequential read speeds up to 14 GB/s and sequential write speeds up to 12 GB/s. Additionally, in random operations of reading and writing blocks of 4KB, they achieve performance rates of 1.5 million and 1.8 million IOPS respectively.
The price point for the Rocket 5 series has been announced by Sabrent, with the 1TB SSD model valued at $189.99, the 2TB version priced at $339.99, and the 4TB variant at $729.99.
