Avenir Telecom, a French company that owns the license to use the globally recognized Energizer battery brand, is set to unveil a revolutionary smartphone at MWC 2024 in Barcelona, named the Energizer P28K. The “28” in the name signifies a battery capacity of 28,000 mAh, being the largest battery ever fitted to a smartphone.
The Energizer Mobile division has released more tech specs of the model. Beyond its colossal 28 thousand mAh battery, the Energizer P28K is a rugged phone featuring a 6.78-inch FHD display and a 16-megapixel front camera. At the back, you’ll find a primary 60-megapixel, plus two 20-megapixel cameras.
This is not Energizer’s first attempt at gifting the world with a smartphone possessing a record-setting battery. Five years ago, at MWC 2019, they showcased the Energizer Power Max P18K Pop. As its moniker suggests, this smartphone sported a battery with a capacity of 18,000 mAh. This, of course, came at the cost of comfort: the hefty feeling gadget had a thickness of 18mm. One could imagine a slim casing is not expected in the Energizer P28K either.
