Cooler Master is set to release their new X Mighty series of highly powerful power supply units (PSUs). The new series includes the impressive 2000W X Mighty 2000 Platinum, the manufacturer’s debut model, and an upcoming beefy 2800W model.
According to the manufacturer’s official promotional materials, the 2800W X Mighty PSU can support a system with dual Intel Xeon or AMD EPYC processors and four GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards. Just the graphics cards in such a configuration alone will consume 1800W of power.
The PSU’s cooling system features a single Mobius fan, a heatsink, and heat conducting pipes. The power supply unit comes equipped with high-quality and durable components from Infineon. All PSUs in the X Mighty series adhere to the ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 power standards.
Cooler Master’s X Mighty PSUs are equipped with digital control support, allowing users to monitor PSU temperature, load levels, and fan speed in real-time. For this, the devices are equipped with a Power Management Bus (PMBUS) and USB connector. The manufacturer has developed specialised software, MasterCTRL, for PSU monitoring and control.
The X Mighty 2800 model features four 12VHPWR power connectors along with six standard 6+2 pin PCIe connectors. Even without an available native 12VHPWR power connector, the GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card can operate from three PCIe 8-pin connectors through a special adapter usually provided with the card. The X Mighty 2000 model has two native 12VHPWR connectors.
Details regarding the price and release date of the new products have not yet been disclosed by the company.
