Coverage of Silicon Power’s Presentation at Computex 2024: Explore New Developments in ‘Limitless Data Storage’

Silicon Power has unveiled a range of innovative products at the Computex 2024 exhibition, aligned with their “Storage Beyond Limits” concept. The tech firm’s showcase includes new solid-state drives, high-speed memory modules, and other notable tech developments.

Silicon Power’s Cutting-Edge Solutions

Silicon Power’s exhibit highlighted four major forefront solutions including the XPOWER Storm DDR5 RGB memory modules. These modules support data transfer speeds ranging from 6000 to 8000 MT/s and have latency timings as low as CL40 to CL38. Silicon Power asserts that these modules support manual overclocking, thus offering a performance boost.

Features of the XPOWER Storm DDR5 RGB Memory Module

The XPOWER Storm DDR5 RGB memory module operates at a relatively low voltage, between 1.35V and 1.45V, optimizing power consumption without compromising gaming performance. The module uses Intel XMP profiles for a smooth user-friendly overclocking experience, enabling easy performance optimization for demanding applications.

In terms of aesthetics, Silicon Power’s design for the XPOWER Storm DDR5 RGB modules was inspired by a shark’s sleek form. The module’s top curved line emulates a shark’s dorsal fin, and symmetrical illustrations of gills, paired with RGB-backlighting, create an engaging design for customers.

Available in 16GB and 32GB versions, these memory modules boost effective frequencies from 6000 to 7600 MHz.

Traditional Portable SSD and NVMe Storage

The company displayed a more traditional portable SSD, the Silicon Power PX10, which is about the size of a thumb drive. Equipped with a USB Type-C, it’s compatible with smartphones, digital cameras, computers, and consoles. The stable SSD provides bidirectional data transfer speeds of up to 1050 MB/s and a maximum capacity of 4 TB. Encased in a shock-resistant and drop-resistant housing, the drive weighs a mere 33 grams.

Apart from this, Silicon Power introduced the US85 NVMe storage in M.2 2280 form factor with a PCI Express 5.0 interface. Constructed using 3D TLC NAND flash memory, the SSD lacks a DRAM buffer, enabling it to maintain high performance without overheating. The device supports sequential read and write speeds of 12,000 and 10,000 MB/s, respectively.

The manufacturer guarantees that the SSD’s design ensures stable performance under intense workloads without damaging its longevity. Thanks to its compact size, the US85 can fit into laptops, providing high-speed PCIe 5.0 without detriment to functionality.

Cooling System and High-Speed Memory Card Displayed

Silicon Power also showcased its cooling system for solid-state drives, the M.2 SSD Heatsink with Cooling Fan HS30. It comprises an aluminum radiator teamed with two copper heat pipes, and a virtually silent fan. HS30 ensures efficient heat dissipation, moderating temperatures for even the most performance-demanding drives.

Catching our attention as well was the StudioPro CFexpress Type B memory card. With high read and write speeds, the card supports 8K video recording with a high bitrate and rapidly transfers large files, including 4K and 8K videos. The StudioPro CFexpress Type B offers sequential reading speeds of up to 1800 MB/s and sequential writing speeds of up to 1650 MB/s. This enables it to capture several frames per second and high-resolution images. The product will be released in several versions with capacities of up to 1.6 TB.
