Yahoo IM on 6600?

Anybody download a Yahoo IM client for the 6600? I see that it has the MSN one, but I’d like to use the IM mobile for Yahoo. However, as the 6600 is so new, its not on their list. Anybody have any suggestions?

thanks in advance….

Phenonix–
I did not have a problem installing the software and I installed it twice. Did you download the Windows Pocket PC 2003 BETA version of agile?

Don’t know why.

Most likely the install has to be run from a desktop PC, not the iPaq itself.

I downloaded Agile and it worked great the first time, but after that, it would go into a “perpetual connecting” mode every time I tried to sign on. I installed it several times, and then decided to completely uninstall it (which was not easy, since the AMWatcher.dll remained in memory and thus would block a complete unistall — I’m not really sure how i finally got it out of there). Anyway, has anyone else had problems with this? I upgraded the ROM (to the 3500) so I don’t know if that is conflicting — any ideas? Or altentative programs that will work with Yahoo?

Yeah I had this problem as well, I’ve tried both the PocketPC and SmartPhone versions. The last one I tried ( think it was the smartphone one) actually HARD reset the machine (maybe it was me trying to soft-reset and hard reset by accident.. maybe.. ) but I had the perpetual conencting mode as well. Only one I’d use it for would be my wife, and she can darn well e-mail me for that 😛

MSN works like a charm.. wish there was a way to have Pocket Breeze NOT kill the process on exit.. hmm.. maybe i’ll dig some more.

I tried uninstalling Agile Messenger, but there is a file locked in memory. I can’t remove it manually because it starts on startup, so a soft boot won’t fix it, and I cannot get it off from the PC side either. Any suggestions?

Ectro — I had that same problem and, unfortunately I failed to use engineering protocols — I didn’t keep track of what i did. I eventually got rid of it, I believe using the PC and deleting anything to do with Agile, and then REinstalling Agile (which put it back into a mode where the “watch” program wasn’t in memory), and then, without launching it again (to keep that little watch program out of memory), deleting Agile completely again.

I guess I will have to watch here and see if anyone suggests a Yahoo program that works…..

Fixed it! After re-installing, uninstalling, reinstalling the app, I finally got frustrated and RENAMED the file (however that works). Then after a cold boot, the file could not be loaded into memory, and easily deleted. PHew.. what a hack. Although I’m gonna miss that voice message feature, hehe

Constant Redialing Hi folks, I’m still fuzzy on what the final solution to the constant redialing problem with the Agile software was. I had the same problem connecting to AIM, my account was being locked down for too many reconnects in too short a period. I was able to uninstall Agile using the directions above but… now what? If I reinstall, will I have the same problem? This only happens when I am connected by cellular (as I have to be at home). EVDO in NYC does not cause this issue. Thanks!

Doesn’t Yahoo make a Pocket PC Native Yahoo IM client ?

If so, shouldn’t this work on my VX6600 ?
