Oting Slashes Prices on Popular SUVs
In a strategic move that reflects current industry trends, Oting has significantly reduced the prices of two of its robust, frame SUVs, the Oting “Paladin” and the Oting Palasso, for the 2025 model year. These models are now being offered at a decreased price of 700,000 rubles and 300,000 rubles, respectively, bringing affordability to a broader consumer base.
The price drop places the Oting “Paladin” in the range of 3.1 to 3.8 million rubles, potentially making it one of the most affordable near full-size SUVs not produced by a domestic brand. Measuring 4,882 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm, the Paladin aims to capture the attention of consumers looking for a substantial yet cost-effective off-road experience.
Exploring the Competitive Landscape
The vehicle’s competitive edge is underscored by its shared features with the larger Oting Palasso. The Palasso, measuring 5,252 mm in length and with a wheelbase of 3,150 mm, is priced between 3.549 and 3.799 million rubles, incorporating the same drivetrain configuration as the Paladin. This includes a platform engineered from the Nissan Navara, a robust 2.0-liter, 218-horsepower Mitsubishi engine, and a smooth 8-speed automatic ZF transmission.
Implications for the Market
This price adjustment is not just a win for consumers looking for affordable options; it also highlights a trend of increasing competitiveness among foreign SUV manufacturers in the Russian market. As consumers become more price-sensitive, the shift may encourage domestic manufacturers to re-evaluate their pricing strategies to maintain market position.
Looking forward, industry experts anticipate that these developments could spark a wave of competitive pricing in the SUV sector, potentially benefiting consumers with more choices at various price points.
