Wish you could send a postcard from the beach without having to get up from your deckchair? Well now you can with the new postcard service from travelocity.co.uk.
Travelers with mobile camera phones can take a picture of themselves and send it to friends and family in a simple ‘easy to follow’ process. Just take a picture, add your message and send a MMS to e-mail protected from spam bots . You will receive a SMS text message prompting you to reply to it with the postal address. Once you have responded the postcard is on its way.
Travelocity chose to work with InAMobile , a leading mobile imaging and applications company for the postcard product. “We are delighted that Travelocity have chosen to offer this service to their customers. Everyone sends postcards when they are on holiday and our solution helps to make them a lot more special. Camera phones are much more mainstream now and travelers can make the best use of them” said Jonathan Smith, CEO InAMobile.
The postcards, which will cost £1.50 incl vat, can be sent from any MMS enabled location, dependent on the network operator. Cards sent before 3pm UK time will be printed and posted via first class mail on the same day.
