The Polish developers at Techland recently disclosed to the significant portal, Game Rant, about an upcoming expansion and subsequent update to the open-world zombie action game, Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
The grandest update to date for Dying Light 2 Stay Human is set to debut on February 22. Labelled as the Firearms Update, it evidently adds firearms to the game.
As per Dying Light’s franchise director, Tymon Smektala, the developers have made immense efforts to organically integrate firearms into the game and are eyeing towards improving and expanding the current arsenal.
On top of this, the Firearms Update promises enhancements for visual elements such as skyboxes, vegetation, and zombie faces. Extra content for both solo and co-op modes is also expected, along with unforeseen surprises in store for fans of the first edition.
However, some anticipated features like tower raids and the ‘Nightmare’ difficulty level will not be included in the Firearms Update due to the developers needing more time to flesh out these aspects. They are expected to make their debut with the spring patch.
This patch will be released in tandem with Dying Light 2 Stay Human — Reloaded Edition. This is the “richest and most comprehensive” version of the game to date, including all previously released content including the Bloody Ties addon and the new Firearms Update and will be released as the new standard edition of the game.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human made its debut in February 2022 on Steam, PC (Epic Games Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S. A yet to be named second expansion to the storyline is expected somewhere in 2024.
