The Night Springs Expansion for Alan Wake 2 Has Been Released, Plus a New Photo Mode is added to the Game.

Alan Wake 2: Night Springs and Photo Mode Add-Ons Officially Launched Today

Today marks the official release of the eagerly-anticipated add-on, Alan Wake 2: Night Springs. Alongside it is the unveiling of a complimentary add-on, Photo Mode, featuring both preset and user-customizable image settings, various effects, and much more. The add-ons have rolled out on PC via the Epic Games Store, Sony PlayStation 5, and Microsoft Xbox Series X and S. An episode from Night Springs titled “North Star” also debuted with a trailer.

Diving into the Mysterious Dimension of Night Springs

The Alan Wake 2: Night Springs add-on serves as the game’s maiden expansion, inviting players to explore the mystical and ever-evolving dimension of the Dark Dweller. Trapped in this otherworldly reality, the protagonist, Alan Wake, endeavors to find his way out using his imagination. He writes scripts for his once-beloved tv show, Night Springs, inadvertently unraveling reality’s fabric. The player embarks on a surreal journey where the known morphs into the unexpected.

Night Springs: Where Alter-Egos Take Center Stage

The Alan Wake 2: Night Springs add-on features three episodes, each starring a character with marked similarity to familiar favorites. Except here, they appear as alternative versions of themselves. In the “Time Breaker” episode, for instance, the protagonist has to toy with time to alter his fate. Played by actor Shawn Ashmore, this character represents a variant of Tim Breaker. The “North Star” episode focuses on Courtney Hope’s character accused of being an alternate Jessie Faden. The final episode, “Number One Fan,” showcases actress Jessica Preddy as a waitress, an alternative rendition of Rose Marigold.
