Ubisoft, the esteemed gaming publisher, and Ubisoft Quebec, the respected team of developers, honored their promise by unveiling the premier trailer for the eagerly anticipated role-playing action game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, on May 15. Along with the trailer, they also shared the first official details of the game.
The setting of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the urbanizing Japan of 1579, during the feudal period. Bustling castle towns and busy ports coexist with tranquil shrines and war-ravaged provinces.
Players will control two main characters—Naoe, the wily and subtle ninja, and Yasuke, the legendary black samurai. Gameplay involves switching between these characters, each possessing a unique style, development system and equipment.
The game promises an enchanting open-world, unpredictable weather, changing seasons, and an environment that reacts to player actions. There will also be an engrossing storyline, the ability to create a network of spies and equip a ninja hideout.
The first trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows garnered 91,000 likes and 20,000 dislikes. Fans, guided by past experiences, caution not to be deceived by the beautiful visuals in the Ubisoft comments section, stating, “The one thing they never mess up is their trailers.”
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on November 15 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S, via the Ubisoft Store and Epic Games Store. Although the game won’t be available in Russia, it will be accompanied by a Russian subtitled version.
Pre-orders for Assassin’s Creed Shadows have started following the announcement. The standard edition is priced at $70. The season pass includes two add-ons, but it’s important to note that an internet connection is required to install and launch the game:
- Standard edition ($70) – includes a pre-order bonus mission for all editions called “To The Wolves”.
- Gold edition ($110) – provides three days of early access, season pass, a bonus quest on release and two add-ons.
- Complete edition ($130) – includes all the above, plus Ultimate Pack (options for personalization, materials for refuge, five skill points, and a “Red Dragon” filter for photo mode).
