4700 Sidelined?

Hi There are a couple of posts on other sites about an apparent ROM upgrade due soon for the 4700. Personally, reading the original post, I think it was fake. But that does beg the question – has the 4700 been forgotten by Hp?

We all report similar issues with this expensive device, plus there is WMP 10. I notice that some ipaq’s released after the 4700 have allready had a ROM update. Does anyone have any clues? I’ve e-mailed the new CEO of Hp but don’t expect a reply anytime soon!

There is nothing “official” from HP so to speculate about a ROM upgrade that might be imminent is something that we just can’t do. Rumors, in my opinion, bring out discussion that serves very little purpose other than to talk for the sake of talking. Would I expect an update at some point in time? Of course I would. What will it do? Fix issues that have arisen from its introduction. When could we expect an update? When HP is ready to release one.

Frankly, I have had very few issues with my 4700 but there have been some and I am confident that HP will address issues that they feel are important to maintain the integrity of the line….just my thoughts!

Forgive me, I wasnt speculating. Someone somewhere else published what a appeared to be a bona-fide reply from Hp about the 4700 ROM upgrade. It didnt look right to me so thought I would air my thoughts here. I don’t post very often but I usually think this site is more in touch than some and occaisionally has the “inside edge”.
