Return it, you will experience many other problems with that phone. It is a phone that works like the old brick phones from the 80’s.

Cardo Scala 500 Has anyone used this headset? It seems to keep losing the partnership, not sure when or why. The ipaq shows that it is connected to the headset, yet the calls are not routed to it. If I delete it from the device and re-partner it, it works again; but only for a little while. Any suggestions, or experience with the Scala? I love the look and feel of it, and I’m told it’s crystal clear at the other end, even with wind and car noise. Thanks for the help! I’m new here, with a new 6315, having a devil of a time, to put it mildly. T-mobile is sending a new device, as this one (1 week old) locks up 5 times every hour. Looking forward to getting to know you here.

iPhono headset

I give iPhono 5 stars for music, spoken word and phone calls. The dongle improves low volume on 6315.

Difference between Ipaq 6315 and 6340 & 6365?

Can anyone tell me the difference between these three Ipaq models: 6315, 6340, and 6365? The reason I ask is that HP has posted updates for the 6340 and 6365 which include some fixes for Blue Tooth. I’m wondering if a) either of those updates would work for my 6315, or b) this means that a update for the 6315 is just around the corner?

alarm777, if you look back over this thread – which is 5 pages long – there are many guides and links to guides to get this working, which it should. Make sure your headset is fully charged also. I hope you get it sorted. Let us know.

Regards,

iPAQ and Jabra 250 Bluethooth

Hi! Just found this site looking for a new Bluetooth Headset. Purchased a Jabra 250 Headset at Christmas to go with my T Mo iPAQ (Thanksgiving). It would not pair. T Mo told me that would have an upgrade the end of the first week in Jan 2005. Called T Mo 3rd week in Jan and was told to download HP 6315 upgrade. Did–still no bluetooth. In Feb I tried T Mo again and they transferred me to HP. After 3 transfers the were sending me back to T Mo and I got disconnected. Called Jabra and they told me the 250 would never work with the 6315 because they use Blu tth Ver 1.0 and the Jabra is Ver 1.1. She said that the bluetooth version is not software but a chip and so it could not be upgraded and I would never be able to use my Jabra. Return time to Mobile Planet expired, of course. She said to tell T Mo to give me a Motorola 810 or 820 which will work because they are Version 1.0. I am surprised that T MO is telling people that they are going to upgrade and also that some people got the Jabra 250 to work. I will try their instructions. I am perplexed by so much miss-information. A definitive answer would be great. I don’t want and can’t afford to spend another $75.00 for a headset if I don’t need to spend it. Any replies or help will be appreciated.

Thanks jonsam

jonsam – I am also somewhat perlexed regarding the conflicting information contained herein. I have recieved the same info by T-Mobile, HP and Jabra. I was told by several T-Mo people that the sony ericsson products work resonably well, but I have yet to try one since I can’t identify one that will difintively work. Like you, any consistant information would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Logitech Mobile Freedom works well

I gotta say, the Logitech Mobile Freedom is pretty easy to use and works with the 6315 without a hitch. When coming out of standby, the headset it still there and works. If you power off the headset you need to re-establish the BT connection with the ipaq. Seems like normal operation though. Once paired, it stays paired all day long. It’s nice to have a BT headset for media player too. When you charge the headset, it powers itself off. So, after you unplug it, you have to re-pair.

The volume in the earpiece seems to vary but I’m sure it the phone and not the headset. Some calls are louder than others. Come to think about it, I remember having this problem with my other phones used on T-Mo’s network.

After my Motorola 810 finally died on me I decided to try another brand headset. The Motorola was great when it worked but the longer I used it, the more troublesome it became. I decided to take a chance on the Jabra 250 since Best Buy said I could return it in 30 days if I was not satisfied. Well, I’ve had the headset since Feb. 16th and it is working fine. I had no trouble pairing the headset and it was up and running in just a few minutes. Volume is fine, I can pick-up and dsiconnect using the multi-function button on the headset and callers can hear me fine! The headset is very comfortable for all-day wearing. It also stays in place much better than the 810 ever did. I have had several minor issues. 1.) The gel earpiece has a tendency to twist as there is no “postive stop” to keep it locked in position. I periodically have to realign it which is a mild inconvenience. 2.) Talk and standby times are not nearly as good as on the Motorola. I wear the headset 8 to 10 hrs a day and have had the battery die on me twice. This NEVER happened with the 810. 3.) The charger, although small, is a two-piece contraption with a docking station that doubles as a belt clip for the headset. The Motorola used the same charger as on many of their cell phones…a much better arrangement. 4.) I still have occasional calls where the caller cannot hear me at all, although I can hear the caller fine. I think that this is likely a Bluetooth issue, not a Jabra problem. 5.) Range is not as good as with the 810. Anthing past 20′ and the signal degrades significantly.

I’m not sure if I’ve been lucky or if the headset I purchased is an updated version of the 250. In any event, I’m glad I bought it. Now, if T-Mobile would only get off their a— and release the ROM update I’d be really happy!

Update … the earpiece broke today … it works great, but if the earpiece breaks easily this is no good … Belkin will replace it, but it won;t get to me until next week … so I’ll just return it to CompUSA …

looking for another hadsfree device …

I just purchased the Jabra 250 … I had it setup and working in a minute, incoming and outgoing call are OK … definitely louder than the Belkin… easier on the ears too …

We’ll see how this holds up …

I keep losing the comunication with the HDW-2, and of course this would always happen in the middle of a call.

I am thinking of getting the Plantronics. I hope this will work better.
