The US-based Astral Clocktower Studios has announced the early access release date for its dark fantasy action RPG with a feline twist, Kristala. The announcement was accompanied by a new gameplay trailer.
Last summer, following a successful Kickstarter fundraising campaign, an early access release for Kristala was expected in 2024. Until recently, the release was anticipated for May, but it has been slightly delayed.
Kristala will now launch on Steam in early access a week later than initially stated – on June 6. The full version is planned for the fourth quarter of 2025, including versions for PS5, Xbox Series X, S and Nintendo Switch.
The game invites players to step into the shoes of a feline warrior (a bit too alike the Khajiit from The Elder Scrolls), who not only possess excellent fencing skills but also parkour, stealth, and the magic of sacred ancient crystals.
Players of Kristala will unravel the truth behind a curse that has plagued the fantasy world’s inhabitants of Ailur and earn their stripes to become a legendary warrior.
Kristala’s combat system incorporates elements of Dark Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Features also include acrobatics, an innovative cat skill tree, Dark Souls 2-style multiplayer PvP arena, and Unreal Engine 5 graphics.
At the initiation of early access, two to four hours of gameplay are promised. Everything from crucial game mechanics and the first biome to language options (restricted to English) will be introduced. Upon 1.0’s release, more levels, characters, cat abilities, bosses, and storyline elements will be added.
