Brazil-based developer Regular Studio, known for the 2022 platformer Togges, has unveiled its next endeavor – an adventure action game, Motorslice, at the Guerrilla Collective presentation. Motorslice draws its inspirations notably from ‘Prince of Persia’.
Motorslice’s storyline unfolds in an abandoned superstructure, where the protagonist, a girl named P, is tasked with eliminating all machines inside.
Supposedly a routine job soon turns complicated when P encounters a threatening, nightmarish machine.
Players will navigate through liminal (transitional, eerie, surreal) spaces while overcoming heavy machinery. Actions include running (inclusive of on walls), jumping, climbing, and sliding.
The game promises “fluid acrobatic gameplay” featuring fast-paced battles, colossal bosses that players can climb on, puzzle-solving via physics-oriented objects, and low-polygon graphics.
Beyond Prince of Persia, Motorslice, as shown in its debut trailer, has elements reminiscent of NieR: Automata (with a female protagonist combating robots amid ruins), Mirror’s Edge (focus on parkour), and Control (brutalist aesthetics).
Motorslice is anticipated to be launched in 2025 on the PC (Steam), with plans for a console release. Currently, the game supports two languages: English and Brazilian Portuguese.
