Advisory on 4700 potential Speaker Damage

The speaker on the HP iPAQ Pocket PC hx4700 series handheld may be susceptible to damage from third-party audio applications. Damage can occur when the handheld communicates with a third-party application that generates a very high-volume audio signal. The audio signal overdrives the full-scale maximum volume inherent to the Pocket PC’s speaker. If this issue occurs, the HP iPAQ Pocket PC hx4700 series handheld can potentially become damaged and no longer produce sound.

This issue affects all models of the HP iPAQ Pocket PC hx4700 series handheld and can be resolved by downloading SoftPaq number SP29790. You can download the SoftPaq HERE
