ASRock Introduces Radeon RX 7600 XT Steel Legend and RX 7600 XT Challenger – Both with Factory Overclocking

ASRock has just revealed two custom editions of the Radeon RX 7600 XT graphics card: Steel Legend and Challenger. The Radeon RX 7600 XT stands as an enhanced version of the Radeon RX 7600 and benefits from a twice-as-large video memory volume and a slightly overclocked GPU.

Powered by the Navi 33 XT graphics processor with RDNA 3 architecture, which is produced using 6-nm process technology, the Radeon RX 7600 XT uses the same core features as the Radeon RX 7600 model. The chip incorporates 32 execution units (2048 stream processors), 64 AI units, 32 ray tracing accelerators, 128 texture units, and 64 rasterization units.

Unique to the Radeon RX 7600 XT are its higher clock frequencies. They were boosted from 2.25 and 2.66 GHz to 2.47 and 2.76 GHz respectively for gaming and Boost frequency. Additionally, the Radeon RX 7600 XT features double the video memory – 16GB GDDR6 instead of 8GB in RX 7600. Memory bus width, however, has remained unchanged at 128 bits. Memory speed and bandwidth are also unaltered – 18 Gbps per pin and 288 GB/sec respectively.

The new release is expected to fill in AMD’s pricing segment between the $270 Radeon RX 7600 and $450 Radeon RX 7700 XT. Interestingly, the RX 7600 XT offers 4GB more video memory than the advanced RX 7700 XT, which has only 12GB of memory, albeit with higher throughput.

The ASRock Radeon RX 7600 XT Steel Legend is equipped with a cooling system incorporating three semi-transparent fans with ARGB lighting. Alternatively, the Radeon RX 7600 XT Challenger version serves as a more affordable option with a cooling system that consists of two fans. Despite being equipped with RGB lighting, the Challenger version features considerably less lighting than the Legend version.

Both cards offer an additional factory overclocking of the graphics processor. The manufacturer states a gaming frequency of 2539 MHz and a Boost frequency of 2810 MHz for the Radeon RX 7600 XT Steel Legend OC. For Radeon RX 7600 XT Challenger OC, frequencies of 2516 and 2799 MHz are specified respectively. Both newcomers have two 8-pin connectors for additional power supply with an energy consumption rate of 190 watts, equivalent to the reference value declared by AMD.
