The ASRock Radeon RX 6500 XT Phantom Gaming model is a recent entry-level graphics card release, powered by Navi 24 GPU based on the RDNA 2 architecture. Initially launched in January 2022, it continues to be manufactured by various companies, despite not being an obvious choice for gaming.
Specifications of ASRock’s Radeon RX 6500 XT Phantom Gaming
The distinguishing factor between this ASRock’s version and the original 4GB RX 6500 XT is its double-capacity video memory. The Radeon RX 6500 XT Phantom gaming graphics card employs a 6nm TSMC process with an AMD Navi 24 GPU architecture and RDNA 2. It’s equipped with 16 execution blocks with 1024 streaming processors and 16 units for hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Memory-wise, the graphics card supports a 64-bit memory bus. The GDDR6 memory operates at a speed of 18 Gbit/s per pin, giving a memory subsystem bandwidth of 144 GB/s.
Performance Comparison
In comparison to the 4GB variant with a gaming frequency of 2610 MHz and a peak frequency of 2815 MHz, ASRock’s 8GB version pushes the gaming frequency to 2685 MHz and the peak frequency to 2825 MHz.
Other 8GB Variants in the Market
It’s worth noting that there are other 8GB versions of the RX 6500 XT available in the market. For instance, Sapphire released a similar version under its Pulse brand last year. Furthermore, PELADN also has an 8GB variant.
Price
While ASRock didn’t disclose the recommended price for their Radeon RX 6500 XT 8GB Phantom Gaming, it has appeared for sale in Japan at a price of 32,800 yen, equivalent to approximately $210.
