Open World Racing Game “Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown” Unveils Release Date
Regarded as an ambitious open-world racing arcade, the long-anticipated release date of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown produced by Nacon and developed by KT Racing was revealed following the mysterious countdown on the game’s website.
Initial Delay and Final Release Date
Originally slated for release on September 22, 2022, Solar Crown’s launch was first delayed to 2023, during which the versions for PS4 and Xbox One were cancelled. It was then postponed to early 2024, excluding Nintendo Switch. The sale of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is now set to commence on September 12 this year, exclusively for PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X and S. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer.
Pre-order Announcement
Following the launch of the trailer, pre-orders for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown started. At the time of publishing, this option was available only for consoles, with the Ford GT 2006 being offered as a bonus.
Customers are provided with three editions of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, one of which comes in two variations:
- Standard for $60
- Silver (Streets or Sharps) for $80, including silver streets/sharps pack, beta access, and game access from September 10
- Gold for $90, featuring silver streets, silver sharps and solar packs, VIP beta pass, and game access from September 5
Gameplay and Requirements
The events of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will unfold on a 1:1 scale (550 km of road) in Hong Kong, with a storyline centered around the rivalry between two racing clans: Streets and Sharps.
Players can anticipate more than 100 licensed cars (including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Dodge, and others), an advanced physics engine, and text translation to Russian. An ever-present internet connection will be required to play the game.
