On May 16th, developers from Larian Studios announced that their award-winning fantasy role-playing game, Baldur’s Gate 3, has received the largest discount ever on Steam since its early access release.
Dating back to nearly three years of early access, Baldur’s Gate 3 had not received any discounts until after its full release. It was only discounted twice during the latest winter and spring Steam sales, with savings never exceeding 10%.
The evening of May 16th brought a 15% discount for Baldur’s Gate 3 on Steam that lasts until May 23rd. Customers in the Russian segment of Valve’s store can now buy one of the best RPGs of recent years at 1699 rubles (down from 1999 rubles).
In the comments of the sale announcement, many users lamented that they cannot purchase the game for a second time. At the same time, ryakkan underscored the significance of Larian’s project: “I would pay 15% more for Baldur’s Gate 3. It’s totally worth it. I’ve already played 800 hours”.
Even though it has been confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 will not receive any addons, new content is still anticipated in the game. In the seventh major patch, the developers plan to add especially “evil” endings and tools for modifications.
The updated version will also bring bug fixes, such as amending the reluctance of Jaheira to follow the squad and participate in fights, or not-so-romantic greetings from Will. The patch’s release date is yet to be confirmed.
Baldur’s Gate 3 was released for PC, macOS, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, has sold about 15 million copies. It received the highest praise from critics and was the first game to be recognized as the best by five leading awards.
