new internet Explorer

Hi guys, a couple of years ago i started developing some simple software but then stopped it but now i have got a new pda it opens up new possibilites for me. I hate the Internet explorer so i have decided to develop my own NEW Internet explorer.
So what i would you all to do is list down the potential features that you consider important and give or take a few weeks i will release a beta-version to the moderators and David and you could give me some feedback. If i get this working it could be a small app in a long line of paddy inspired products. Please get back to me with your feedback.

HI. I think its awesome that you have decided to develop a new web browser. First off im not a programmer and therefore i might come with some stupid suggestions because i dont really know whats possible. One thing that came to my mind is that PIE seems to transfer the data again when reloading a previously visited page, dont know if this is the case but if it is, it means that when using GPRS it becomes very expensive quickly. At least here in Sweden it is charged by the KB. A better caching system would be nice!!

I havent tried Opera but i have heard that it is superior in resizing Webpages to the small screen, something i find PIE not to handle very well. If that is possible to improve, do it!!

Ill try to think of more things

/Anders

Java support

It’d be nice to be able to access sites that use JAVA. Seems PIE doesn’t do very well with Java applets (if at all).

It would be nice for a pop-up blocker to provide the option of accepting pop-ups – would make internet banking possible for many people whose banks only provide access in a pop up window after password authentication.

the program will include a bank friendly mode so that all of the MAJOR Banks will work. The banks that are supported are the Barclays Bank, Halifax, HSBC, Lloyds TSB, Egg.com, Cahoot. now at the moment these are only british banks if you can give me the names and website addresses of some american banks or some banks that have internet banking that would be great but i think all the banks have the same format of websites so i am hoping that it will be a kinda one size fits all.

The prototype will be out by christmas (an early christmas present if you will) then the full version is scheduled to be unleashed at midnight new years eve. you will never have seen a program like it. it will be a work of art and it will be free.

Thanks Milamber for your great contribution to help easy our tribulations with PIE. I myself would like to suggest landscape browsing and page zooming, so that I can see the layout of the page at one glance. Page zooming could be very nice feature if it deisplays the page at zoom equivalent to 800×600 and then after a preset time it returns to displaying what fits in the screen, of course, the whole time in Landscape. Maybe it is too complicated to implement but it would be a very welcome and original feature indeed.
