Twentieth Century Fox, one of the world’s largest producers and distributors of motion pictures, and Sorrent, Inc., a leading creator and global publisher of mobile entertainment, announced a two-year worldwide partnership in which Sorrent will be the exclusive publisher of mobile games and content for selected upcoming Fox feature film releases.
The partnership will launch with a mobile game and special entertainment content for Fox’s highly-anticipated computer animated feature film, “Robots.” The mobile game will debut simultaneously with the release of the console title, which will be published by Vivendi Universal Games.
“We are thrilled to create and publish mobile games and content that will leverage the popularity of Twentieth Century Fox’s movies and give consumers a way to access the information and entertainment they seek, whenever they want, wherever they are,” said Greg Ballard, chief executive officer, Sorrent. “Our partnership with Fox extends our leadership worldwide and supports our goal of being the leading mobile entertainment publisher around the world.”
Through the agreement, Fox will have global reach to wireless users for its breakthrough creative content from its motion pictures. Fox and Sorrent will partner on other films, including “Kingdom of Heaven,” “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” and “Ice Age 2: The Meltdown.”
“Sorrent has consistently delivered high quality, top-rated games and entertainment to the mobile platform,” said Lucy Hood, senior vice president of content and marketing, News Corporation. “This relationship adds a new dimension to the way we build our relationship with consumers.”
