Galax Introduces Overclocked GeForce RTX 4070 Super HOF OC Lab Master-X with a Power Reserve of 320W.

Galax has unveiled its plan to revamp its signature HOF OC Lab graphics card series with the new GeForce RTX 4000 Super models. The first to be released are the GeForce RTX 4070 Super HOF OC Lab Master and HOF OC Lab Master-X. Staying true to the series’ tradition, the new models feature a stark white aesthetic, including the printed circuit board.

The RTX 4070 Super has an AD104-350 graphics processor with 7158 CUDA cores which is 21% more than the regular RTX 4070. However, the video memory remains unchanged, still at 12GB GDDR6X. The reference version of RTX 4070 Super, announced by NVIDIA, has a GPU boost frequency of 2475 MHz. Non-reference versions of RTX 4070 Super from NVIDIA partners offer an additional factory overclock of the graphics chip to 2500-2600 MHz.

Galax’s version possesses a factory overclock of the graphics processor up to a frequency of 2685 MHz, a significant improvement of 210 MHz from NVIDIA’s reference specifications. To put things in perspective, its performance surpasses one of the most potent RTX 4070 Super on the market – the Aorus Master version from Gigabyte, which was just announced and has a maximum TDP of 350W.

For RTX 4070 Super HOF OC Lab, Galax has set its standard power consumption at 250W, with an adjustable maximum power limit up to 320W. Accompanying the graphics cards from Galax is an adapter that transforms three 8-pin connectors into one 12+4-pin power connector, 12VHPWR (two 8-pin connectors won’t suffice for cards with a TDP above 300W).

The Galax RTX 4070 HOF LC Lab Master-X is equipped with a robust power subsystem with a 12+3 phase scheme and a potent controller XDPE10281. It supports a dual BIOS system with high-performance and quiet modes. Galax has not divulged specific features of the Master version (without the “X”).

The Galax HOF LC Lab graphics cards are embedded with a substantial three-slot cooling system which includes three fans. The cooling system also employs eight heat-conducting pipes (two are 8mm in diameter and six are 6mm), accompanied by a large copper, nickel-plated, contact plate measuring 93.5 x 73.5 mm.

In the HOF OC Lab series, Galax is also gearing up to release the RTX 4070 Ti Super and RTX 4080 Super models. However, their specifications remain a mystery as of now.
