Supergiant Games, noted for successful projects like Bastion, Pyre, and Transistor, is set to release their 2020 3DNews ‘Game of the Year’ winner, Hades, on a new platform. The game’s launch on iOS has been formally announced.
Plans to bring Hades to Apple device operating systems were initially disclosed in the fall as part of the Geeked Week 2023 festival last November. An official release had been anticipated throughout 2024.
Now, it has been confirmed that Hades will make its debut on iOS by the end of this month – on March 19. Users can pre-register on the game’s page in the App Store.
The iOS version of Hades will be available for free to Netflix subscribers on the platform. Unlike GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, the Supergiant game will not be available outside of the streaming service.
Hades in the Netflix catalog is guaranteed to be ad-free and free of microtransactions. It promises controller support, and offers touch controls adapted for mobile devices (see the attached gameplay trailer above).
In Hades, players take on the role of the Immortal Prince of the Underworld, Zagreus, as he attempts to escape his father Hades’s domain. On Steam, the game has garnered 227,000 overwhelmingly positive reviews and holds a rating of 98%.
Meanwhile, the sequel to Hades, Hades II, is gearing up for an early access release on both Steam and Epic Games Store. The sequel’s formal launch is still anticipated in the second quarter (between April and June). Upon the release of version 1.0, the game will also become available on consoles.
