Garou makes a comeback after 26 years: new trailers of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves delight fans

SNK Corporation, a renowned publisher and developer, made an announcement during the finale of the SNK World Championship 2023. The company unveiled a fresh set of trailers and the release timeline for the fighting game titled Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, marking the first new installment in the series in over 25 years.

It’s noteworthy that the well-liked Fatal Fury franchise went dormant after Garou: Mark of the Wolves was released in 1999. SNK confirmed a new Fatal Fury/Garou in the summer of 2022 and elucidated the game’s title and a teaser trailer in the following summer.

According to the released announcement trailer, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is poised to launch in early 2025. SNK plans to take a public demo of the game to the EVO Japan 2024 tournament happening in Tokyo from the 27th to the 29th of April.

The gameplay trailer featured a battle between Rock Howard and Terry Bogard and confirmed English dubbing. The target platforms for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves remain undisclosed.

The second trailer, which premiered at the SNK World Championship 2023, highlighted the characters of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The characters include Rock and Terry, Hotaru Futaba, Tizok, and a franchise newcomer – a female character named Preecha.

The comment sections under both trailers are filled with rave reviews from fans praising the game itself and its English dubbing (a first in the series). “The golden age of fighting games is here again,” proclaimed AbdulAdas on his YouTube channel.

News during the last summer reported that work on the game was in full swing. The focus lies on captivating multiplayer and story modes that will ease new fans into the franchise.
