Handmark Donates Pocket Express(R) Proceeds to Red Cross Tsunami Relief Effort

Handmark, the leading developer and publisher of software for smart mobile devices, announced today that during the month of January it will donate all first-month proceeds from new Pocket Express(R) subscriptions to the International Red Cross for Asian Tsunami relief. By specifying Pocket Express, the company’s award-winning wireless service bundle, Handmark is dedicating its leading product to helping the recovery in Southeast Asia.

Pocket Express is a packaged service for smartphones and WiFi-enabled PDAs. The bundle, available on a subscription basis for $6.99 per month or $69.90 with a prepaid one-year subscription, offers wireless users a powerful mix of news, stocks, sports, weather, movies, maps and 411 information, at speeds up to 20 times faster than services accessed via conventional web browser.

Smartphone and PDA users interested in taking advantage of the Pocket Express tsunami relief donation opportunity can go to http://express.handmark.com/ for more information. Only new subscriptions are eligible for the effort; all subscriptions must be registered with Handmark by midnight (CST) on January 31, 2005 to qualify for the donation fund.

“Handmark wants to help the global tsunami relief effort, and the best way for us to contribute is by sharing the income from our hottest new product, Pocket Express,” said Augie Grasis, CEO of Handmark. “Some of us first learned of this disaster through the Pocket Express News channel. Now anyone who purchases Express from Handmark will be helping with the much needed cash to fund the international relief efforts.”

Pocket Express, winner of the 2004 DEMOgod(TM) award and two 2004 Gold Mobile Star Awards from MobileVillage(R), has been widely acclaimed for its value and ease of use. Because the Pocket Express application is not browser- based, it can provide significantly more information faster and more reliably than other services. In addition to its delivery speed, Pocket Express access requires 80% fewer keystrokes than browser-based alternatives.

Pocket Express is available for a wide variety of Palm-powered smartphones and PDAs, Windows Mobile based smartphones and Pocket PCs, as well as a number of BlackBerry devices. For more about Pocket Express and the Handmark Tsunami Relief effort, visit http://express.handmark.com/ .
