The ASUS ROG team has established four new world records using the latest 24-core Intel Core i9-14900KS processor, achieving a record-breaking frequency and three record-breaking performance test results. This cutting-edge technology can automatically overclock to 6.2 GHz on one or two cores, a benchmark of performance for enthusiasts.
The previous absolute record for central processor frequency, set at 9044 MHz, was established on October 17, 2023, using a Core i9-14900KF processor by Swedish overclocker Jon “Elmor” Sandström. The new official CPU frequency record stands at 9117.75 MHz, set with a Core i9-14900KS processor by the same overclocker and his team. A ROG Maximus Z790 APEX Encore enthusiast motherboard was also used in the overclocking process.
The Core i9-14900KS processor reached a temperature of -231 degrees Celsius, as revealed in the video below, working at 1.85 V. Achieving such a record naturally required the use of exotic cooling. In this case, liquid helium was applied.
In addition to this, ASUS has announced the achievement of three additional world records using the Core i9-14900KS in the PiFast, SuperPI 1M, and PYPrime 32B benchmarks, which it completed in 6.79 seconds, 3.768 seconds, and 97.596 seconds respectively. Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not disclose the frequency at which the processor operated during these tests.
