YouTube’s ‘Like’ Feature Experiences Common Glitch
Recently, users of the web version of YouTube came across a peculiar glitch. The ‘like’ button, represented by a thumbs up icon, disappeared upon pressing. Although the functionality remained intact with likes still being counted, the button vanished from view leaving an empty, gray space.
Recognition and Resolution by YouTube
This problem was noted by multiple users of the video platform across several browsers. Google, the parent company of YouTube, acknowledged the issue and stated on their support page that the ‘like’ button was indeed not operating as intended. It was also confirmed that this glitch only affected the web version of the platform, as the feature functioned normally in the app. YouTube assured users that regardless of the visibility of the like icon, the videos were still receiving likes.
The Issue Fixed
A while later, the company confirmed on the same support page that the glitch had been fixed, thanking users for their patience. Remarkably, it’s not the first time this glitch has occurred. Reddit users previously reported a similar problem a few months prior.
