The Chinese company, MaxSun, has unveiled a uniquely shaped H770YTX Terminator motherboard in the YTX form factor. This new piece of hardware measures 245 x 175mm, resembling a wider version of an ITX format board. Its unconventional dimensions have provided the company with additional space for ports and internal connectors, such as extra M.2 slots.
Priced at ¥899 ($126), the MaxSun H770YTX Terminator is a mid-range solution. It leverages a 10-phase VRM power subsystem with an 8+1+1 phase scheme. This board supports processors with a maximum TDP of up to 253W and is designed for use with Intel Alder Lake (12th Generation Core), Raptor Lake (13th Generation Core), or Raptor Lake Refresh (14th Generation Core) processors.
One distinctive feature of the H770YTX Terminator is that some of its connectors are found at the rear. Specifically, the manufacturer has relocated the motherboard’s 24-pin power connector, the CPU’s 8+4-pin power connector, connectors for additional fans, two SATA ports, and the front panel connectors to the reverse side of the board. Buyers should take into consideration that the motherboard may not be compatible with all computer casings.
Furthermore, the motherboard boasts four M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, with two situated next to the two DIMM connectors for RAM. The latter supports memory modules with speeds up to 8000 MHz enabled via XMP overclocking profiles. One M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot is positioned on the motherboard’s reverse, while another is traditionally situated beneath the CPU socket. In addition, the H770YTX Terminator offers four SATA ports and one SlimNAS SFF-8654 (4 lanes) for NAS drives.
The motherboard also equips a fully-fledged PCIe 5.0 x16, a 2.5 Gbps network adapter, and an Intel AX101 NIC module with Wi-Fi 6 support.
