Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Processor to be Featured in Acer, Dell, HP, and Lenovo Laptops

Qualcomm is set to revolutionize the mobile chip market for laptops with its Snapdragon X Elite processor. Promising the performance of Intel, AMD, and Apple chips, it also offers impressive battery life. Acer, Dell, HP and Lenovo are readying high-performance laptops based on the Snapdragon X Elite.

Acer’s Qualcomm Chips Implementation

Acer has integrated Qualcomm processors into its Swift 14 laptops. This results in the Swift 14 AI, a high-performance laptop with long battery life and one of the most energy-efficient Windows 11 laptops in the market. It is equipped with a 14.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, boasts a premium aluminum case, and weighs about 1.67 kg. The laptop is powered by either the X Elite X1E-78-100 processor with 12 cores or the X Plus X1P-64-100 with 10 cores.

Dell’s Shift to Snapdragon X Elite

Dell is distinguishing itself by incorporating the latest Snapdragon X Elite mobile chips into its laptops. The flagship XPS 13 model will be available in an Elite variant with improved performance and extended battery life. The new laptop is very compact, weighing only 1.2 kg and just 15 mm thick. Its aluminum body and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 make it sturdy and light. It features a 13.4-inch display including a version with a touch-sensitive OLED screen, can be configured with either the X1 Elite X1E-80-100 or the X Plus X1P-64-100 processor. Dell began accepting preorders for the XPS 13 on May 20, with prices starting at $1299.

Dell’s New Inspiron 14 Plus

For more affordable PCs, Dell has introduced the Snapdragon X Elite chips into the Inspiron 14 Plus, which is similar to its Intel counterpart. It has a starting price of $1099, and features only the less powerful Snapdragon X1 Plus X1P-64-100 chip.

HP’s Qualcomm Powered Laptops

HP Inc. has utilized the high-performance Snapdragon Elite chips in two new laptop models: the OmniBook X AI and the business-targeted EliteBook Ultra G1q AI. Both models feature a 14-inch display, a compact body, Wi-Fi 7 support, a 5-megapixel infrared front webcam, and dual speakers. With the Snapdragon chips, HP claims that the devices can run up to 22 hours without charging. OmniBook X prices start from $1199, with sales to commence on June 18. The EliteBook Ultra starts at $1699.99.

Lenovo’s X Elite-based Laptops

Lenovo unveiled two products powered by X Elite chips: the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x and the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6. The Slim 7x is touted as being incredibly powerful for its size, weighing just 1.28 kg and being only 12.9 mm thick. The laptop will go on sale in June, with prices starting from $1199. Designed for business users, the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 will go on sale in June as well, at a higher starting price of $1699. It maintains the design features found in earlier models of the ThinkPad 14s, weighs even less at 1.24 kg, supports up to 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and helps users stay connected with Wi-Fi 7 and additional 5G Sub 6 options.
