Scythe Unveils 6th Generation Mugen Processor Coolers
Scythe Corporation has introduced the 6th generation of its Mugen processor cooler. The new cooler will come in two versions – the Mugen 6 and the Mugen 6 Black Edition. The former features a chrome finish, nickel-plated copper heat pipes, and comes with a single fan. The latter, on the other hand, is entirely black – including the heat pipes – and comes with a pair of fans.
Cooler Specifications
Both coolers feature a nickel-plated copper base and are equipped with six heat-conducting pipes, each with a diameter of 6mm. The Mugen 6 radiator is ventilated by a single fan, while the Mugen 6 Black Edition is ventilated by two Scythe Wonder Tornado 120 PWM fans based on hydrodynamic bearings. The fans can rotate up to 2000 RPM, generate an airflow of up to 60.29 CFM, and generate a static pressure up to 2.45mm H2O, according to the manufacturer.
Dimensions and Weight
The Mugen 6 cooler, with its fan installed, measures 132 x 106 x 154.5 mm and weighs 1.01 kg. In contrast, the Mugen 6 Black Edition cooler with two fans measures 132 x 132 x 154.5 mm and weighs 1.2 kg.
Processor Socket Compatibility
The coolers are compatible with the Intel LGA 1700 and LGA 1200 processor sockets, as well as the AMD Socket AM5 and AM4. Scythe has not yet released any information regarding the cost of these coolers.
