Socket Communication’s Wi-Fi Companion

CONCLUSION:

This program embodies the concept of simplicity, while still providing highly detailed information about the network, should the user need them. I like to refer to this kind of GUI (Graphic User Interface) as the “low or no learning curve” GUI, yet it also attains high marks for providing that detailed information for those of us who are technically minded users. Specifically, network administrators will absolutely love the dizzying amount of details and statistical reports available from this program. The fact that one program could readily satisfy both the technical and non-technical crowds speaks volumes to all of the hard work that went into the design of this program!

PROs

• Supports WPA, WPA-PSK, 802.1x, 40/128-bit WEP, and Open • GUI designed to show simple information on top, yet has fairly detailed information depending on how far down you drill into the GUI. • Excellent use of Charts and Tables (not shown in review) provides great overview of network.

CONs

• Higher initial cost may prove too high for casual consumers. However, reviewer agrees that price point is well-deserved for a product this well designed.
