The French gentleman thief, Arsène Lupin, from Maurice Leblanc’s novels and novellas, will finally have his own adventure with the help of Microids, a publisher who has decided to step in and create an exciting game around this noble robber.
Microids announced the adventure puzzle game ‘Arsene Lupin: Once a Thief,’ casting the legendary gentleman thief in the lead role.
The game aims to provide a fresh take on Lupin’s adventures from the stories ‘The Arrest of Arsène Lupin’ and ‘Sherlock Holmes Arrived Too Late’ (referencing Sherlock Holmes, whose name Leblanc had to slightly alter).
Players are promised a gripping narrative about youth, love, and crime, alongside a plethora of puzzles. They will have the opportunity to control both Lupin and his steadfast adversary — Ganimard.
As Lupin, players will solve riddles, change disguises, and outwit detectives. Conversely, playing as Ganimard requires players to look for clues, interrogate suspects, reconstruct the sequence of events, and correlate facts.
Expect a world of animated illustrations, vibrant characters, dramatic stories told with love, and a Russian text translation. However, the voiceover will only be available in English and French.
The release of ‘Arsene Lupin: Once a Thief’ is anticipated at the end of 2024 on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, S, and Nintendo Switch. The project is driven by the British ‘Blazing Griffin’ (Hercule Poirot: The First Cases).
