Tower case with RGB and NVMe released for Raspberry Pi 5

Education equipment manufacturer, SunFounder, has launched Pironman 5, a tower case designed for the Raspberry Pi 5 single-board computer. The case houses two RGB fans, an LED light, and the potential for NVMe SSD installation via an expansion board. The design mirrors that of a scaled-down standard PC tower case.

Features of Pironman 5 Case

The Pironman 5 is equipped with a 0.96-inch OLED informational display. The display shows the processor load, temperature, the computer’s IP address, disc space and RAM usage, along with other working parameters. The case also features a power button, two full-size HDMI ports, a spring-loaded slot for a microSD memory card, and an infrared receiver for media center applications. Even a 40-pin GPIO port is accessible externally, with its contacts labeled.

NVMe PiP HAT+ Expansion Board and Cooling

Along with these features, the SunFounder Pironman 5 comes with an NVMe PiP HAT+ expansion board for SSD connection. Compatible with M.2 2230, 2242, 2260, or 2280 SSDs, it also provides access to Raspberry Pi 5’s gigabit Ethernet port, as well as its USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports. The case’s two large RGB-lit fans are GPIO-controlled, and the system controls a tower cooler designed to cool a 100% loaded Raspberry Pi 5 processor to 39°C in a 25°C room. Compatibility with all versions of Raspberry Pi OS Desktop and Lite is ensured by the manufacturer.

Priced at $79.99, the SunFounder Pironman 5 is available for purchase on the company’s website.
