World of Goo 2: Anticipated Release and Listing

In a recent Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, the physical puzzle game, World of Goo 2, received not only a listing of target platforms but also a release date, despite having been non-existent until recently. More information can be found on the announcement.

Past and Future Inception

The existence of World of Goo 2 was first unveiled in December during The Game Awards 2023 preview show, where it was stated to be “deep in development” and anticipated to be released in 2024.

Launch Details

It has now been revealed that World of Goo 2 will be available for purchase on the 23rd of May this year, for PC and Nintendo Switch. The announcement was accompanied by a brief demonstration of the gameplay at the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase. Watch the gameplay here.

Where to Buy?

The PC version of World of Goo 2 will be available for purchase at two places: on the official game site (for Windows, Mac and Linux) and the digital store, Epic Games Store (for Windows and Mac).

For those distressed about their preferred platform not being listed, the developers from 2D BOY and Tomorrow Corporation have some advice: “Don’t see your favorite platform on the list? Don’t worry. Throw out your other platforms and buy the game on one of the listed ones!

Game Features

Like its predecessor, World of Goo 2 will offer to build bridges, grow towers, shape landscapes, and power flying machines with live, liquid creatures in a beautiful, dangerous, and ever-changing world. Features in the sequel will include the simulation of real slime, new types of spheres with unique properties, and local cooperation for four (exclusively in the Switch version).
