Possible to Verify “Unlocked” status on 6315? I have just purchased a 6315 on EBay that was advertised as being “unlocked”. That being said, I have put my 64k SIM in the device but it will not connect to Cingular network. A TMo SIM works just fine. I contacted Cingular and they manually changed my IMEI information on my account, but to no avail. I have flashed the ROM to the current version (1.10.08 ENG).

Is it possible to somehow verify the device is actually unlocked? I do not receive any error messages when trying to boot the device with my Cingular SIM, but it will not connect to the Cingular network.

Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions!!!!

Therer are 2 different kinds of sim chips that cingular offers. One with black writing and one with gold. I know for a fact, that one will work, and the other will not work. I’m not sure which one will, however. Do some research on a couple forums, you’ll find out.
It’s relatively easy to get a new sim chip though. I believe cingular will replace them for free, if not, they run around 10-15 bucks.
