At Computex 2024, Seasonic unveiled a fascinating product: the PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition power supply unit (PSU). The PSU stands out due to its equipped Noctua fan, as reflected in the product name. The announcement was made on Noctua’s official Reddit channel.
The initial Seasonic PRIME 1600W PSU comes equipped with a 135mm fan. In the Noctua Edition, this has been replaced by a 125mm Noctua NF-A12x25 fan, renowned for its high efficiency and low noise production. Additionally, the fan’s radiator has undergone some optimizations as well. The PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition operates approximately 8–10 dBa quieter than the original PSU model, thanks to these modifications.
The PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition’s Noctua NF-A12x25 fan supports a semi-passive mode of operation. It does not intensify unless the PSU load exceeds 50% or the temperature reaches 25°C. Consequently, under low loads and comfortable environmental conditions, the PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition operates nearly noiselessly.
The PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition is compliant with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 power standards. It comes with a 12+4 12V-2×6 power connector specifically designed for graphics cards. Additionally, this PSU also boasts fully modular cable design.
The PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition showcases high energy efficiency, as proven by its 80 PLUS Titanium and Cybernetics ETA Titanium certifications. At 50% load, the PSU’s efficiency is reported at 94%.
The PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition is expected to hit markets in the fourth quarter of the present year. However, its cost has not been disclosed as yet.
