Lian Li, the famous technology company, has introduced an array of products at Computex 2024. These products aim to simplify the building of personal computers (PCs). Notably, the company unveiled the wireless Strimer Plus V3 WRLS System at the event. This system, specifically designed for fan control, helps significantly cut the number of cables within the system. Lian Li demonstrated how this system works using their UNI Fan SLV3 fans as an example.
Conventional RGB fans typically require two cables. One is for the fan power, connecting to the relevant socket on the motherboard or the fan controller’s socket. The second cable connects to the motherboard’s RGB socket or to the backlight controller’s socket. Lian Li’s new system promises to simplify this cabling process.
The photo above shows a controller attached to one of the UNI Fan SLV3 fans. Two other similar fans are also chained to it. The controller provides power to all three fans simultaneously and connects to the motherboard with just a single cable.
The USB transmitter in the above image connects to one of the internal USB-A sockets and works as a wireless controller for managing the RGB backlighting. It can also connect to one of the motherboard’s PWM sockets to control the fans’ speed. One notable feature of this USB transmitter is that it can control fans outside the PC, provided they are compatible.
To control the fans’ cooling and lighting, Lian Li suggests using their proprietary software.
