Chery Innovates with New Tiggo 8, Setting a Fresh Benchmark in the SUV Market

Chery Unveils Fifth-Generation Tiggo 8 in China

Chery, the renowned Chinese automotive manufacturer, has officially launched the brand-new fifth-generation Tiggo 8 SUV in its domestic market. This introduction marks a significant milestone for Chery, as it continues to expand its influence in the global SUV segment. Initially available for pre-order, the official launch has brought a reduction in price, in line with long-standing Chinese traditions. Early adopters of the Tiggo 8 can acquire the base Comfort version for a mere 92,900 yuan, equivalent to approximately 1.05 million rubles.

A Competitive Edge in Pricing and Features

The new Tiggo 8 offers four distinct trim levels, with the flagship model priced at 122,900 yuan (about 1.4 million rubles). This price point is remarkably competitive, especially for a vehicle that rivals the size of the Geely Monjaro, measuring 4,749 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm. To put this in perspective, the Land Cruiser 300 boasts a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.

Design and Aesthetic Appeal

The Chery Tiggo 8 comes with two front-end styling options. One mirrors the Tiggo 8 Plus, known in Russia as the Tenet T8, while the other sports a more intriguing design – a large hexagonal shield-like grille, reminiscent of Audi’s design language. This stylistic choice isn’t new for Chery, having previously introduced similar aesthetics with the Chery Arizzo 8 Pro.

Inside and Under the Hood: Elegant and Powerful

The base configuration of this SUV doesn’t fall short on luxury or technology. It includes a leather interior, a 360-degree camera system, an HD rearview camera, keyless entry coupled with a Bluetooth key, dual-zone climate control, rear passenger footwell air vents, and adjustable rear seat backrests. Powering the Tiggo 8 is a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine generating 200 horsepower, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The manufacturer’s claimed fuel efficiency is 7.2 liters per 100 kilometers.

Why Chery’s Tiggo 8 Release Matters

The release of the Tiggo 8 not only reinforces Chery’s growing stature among global automakers but also highlights the increasing quality and technological advancements coming from Chinese automotive brands. As international competition intensifies, Chery’s competitive pricing and feature-rich offerings challenge both incumbent and new players in the market.
