First Wi-Fi Mesh Network coming to the Bahamas

Y-Tel announced the signing of a Exclusive Marketing Agreement to install the first Wi-Fi Network which now offers the ability to make international calls using Wi-Fi phones with KBMP Communications located in the Bahamas.

The Agreement allows Y-Tel to install a Wi-Fi network throughout downtown Nassau, in the Bahamas which will stretch from Arawak Cay to Heritage Village to the Water Tower and Fort Fincastle. Then from the Water Tower it will stretch to Paradise Island where the Atlantis Resort is located. This will cover a major portion of the tourist area which accounts for approximately 150,000 passengers from the cruise lines each month and 100,000 hotel guest totaling around 2 million visitors each year.

Y-Tel and KBMP Communications will share the cost of the Wi-Fi Network Build-out on a fifty percent bases, which will allow each company a 50% ownership position in the Wi-Fi Network.
