Beta version of new patch for Starfield will be released next week – improving photo mode, scanner, and mission tracking.

Bethesda Game Studios, the creators of the space role-playing game Starfield, are exceeding their update frequency goals with a patch releasing less than a month after the previous, despite a set plan of updates every six weeks. The upcoming patch is expected to further enhance the gaming experience.

Slated for beta testing on March 6, the upgrade will be available to Starfield players on Steam ahead of its full release across all targeted platforms. As the developers maintain a drive for periodic enhancement, further functionalities and content will continue to roll out throughout 2024. The forthcoming update predominantly focuses on gameplay convenience improvements and bug fixes.

Intricate photo-mode features such as character and ally facial expression choices will be introduced. Additionally, gamers can expect more posing options for the robot companion, Vasco.

Adding to convenience, the upcoming patch will automatically trigger non-active missions – steering the course for them – when selected, making resource collection or door unlocking possible even with an open scanner in front of the player-character’s face.

Bug fixes are part and parcel of any update; journalist David Barron will no longer disappear in the “Sabotage” mission, thus enhancing the gameplay. A left-turning hero head while sprinting and the proper appearance of temples in required places will correct game irregularities.

Available via PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X, S, and Game Pass, Starfield will witness the addition of city maps, new travel modes, mod support, and perhaps the much-anticipated Shattered Space expansion by the end of 2024.
