Activision, the publisher and developer of popular games, has unveiled the release date and fresh details about its standalone version of the popular battle royale game, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, designed for iOS and Android devices. Details here.
Scheduled release
The game is poised to make its international release on iOS and Android platforms on March 21, following its soft launch in various countries throughout the year 2023.
Over 50 million people have already pre-registered for the game, and Warzone Mobile has announced a slew of in-game rewards — a Ghost skin, weapon blueprints, a decal, and an emblem — at launch for completing the pre-registration process.
Gameplay features
At the outset, Warzone Mobile will feature two large maps (“Verdansk” for 120 players and “Rebirth Island” for 48), several multiplayer maps (including Shipment and Shoot House), and game modes (inclusively Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, and Domination).
The game also promises accessibility settings (like UI element adjustments), gamepad support, and progress transfer between Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 (player and weapon levels, battle pass progression, purchased packs).
Additional features
Furthermore, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile features controls adapted for mobile devices, built-in social functions (including a friends list, several chat types), and unique events and content.
Developing Partners
The game is being developed by the Call of Duty studios and Activision’s technological teams, in collaboration with a “multi-studio mobile organization,” which includes Activision Shanghai Studio, Beenox, Digital Legends, and Solid State Studios.
