“For the last six years, CinemaNow has been at the forefront of digital video delivery. We have applied our knowledge of the market to create a new site focused on the two things our customers have told us they most value: choice and convenience,” said Curt Marvis, CEO of CinemaNow. “We are the only broadband video store to provide such a large library, three payment options, upgraded video encoding and a growing number of options for playing our content on TVs and portable devices. The time was right to enhance the site to better service the changing landscape of digital delivery.”

To meet these demands, the new site design includes a more sophisticated search engine technology, a robust browsing and filtering capability, a refined recommendation engine, a redesigned customer service area with added features and an improved navigational hierarchy. In addition, CinemaNow has addressed the growth areas of its business by creating easier navigation to service a large content library, additional format choices (multiple encode rates, high-definition) and multiple playback options (portable video players, mobile devices).

The new CinemaNow site features upgrades aimed at improving the customer experience. These include: — Additional content genres with more detailed classifications, including sub-genres, for easier discovery of content — Expanded TV, News and Music sections including the introduction of Music Videos — A dedicated area of the site for content for portable media devices — New “Search” and “Advanced Search” technology for more relevant results and easy filtering — A new browse tool that filters results by “Content Category”, “Format” and “Playback Device” — A sophisticated recommendation engine that bases suggestions on customer ratings and purchase histories — An updated check-out process that makes renting or buying a video as simple as “Pick, Pay, Play” — Improved customer service tools and support that assist customers in maximizing the CinemaNow experience
