Following Steam, Epic Games Store Soon to End Support for Windows 7, 8, and 32-bit Windows 10

Epic Games Store to Stop Support for Old Windows Operating Systems

The management of the digital distribution service, Epic Games Store, recently informed users that it will soon cease support for outdated Windows operating systems.

From June 2024, the Epic Games launcher will stop supporting Windows 7, Windows 8, and 32-bit Windows 10. Consequently, the EGS client on these OSs will stop receiving updates after this date.

Epic Games notes that players will still be able to use the Epic Games launcher on Windows 7, 8, and 32-bit Windows 10 even after June 2024. However, there will be “no official support.”

Epic Games warns that it “will not be able to provide technical support to users of these operating systems, and the functions of the launcher on these systems may deteriorate or stop working over time.”

Earlier, Valve ceased its support for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1: Starting from January 1, 2024, Steam users on these operating systems lost the ability to launch the Steam client and access their library.
