Going to the mall?…bring your iPAQ

Mall-goers with a wireless-equipped laptop or notebook will now be able to access the Internet while visiting The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, thanks to the recent installation of high speed public access wireless (Wi-Fi) equipment in the common areas of the mall.

“Given the high concentration of office buildings around The Fashion Centre – including the Pentagon – we thought Wi-Fi service would be a very useful service to the many people who conduct informal off-site meetings in our food court,” said Suzette Timme, General Manager of The Fashion Centre. “We’re very excited to offer this unique and relevant amenity to our guests.”

Visitors to The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City who are interested in using the Internet on their laptop or notebook computers simply bring their computer to mall and open up the Internet browser. An access page from the Internet service provider, Single Digits, appears and allows users to pay for the service online via a credit or debit card. Those interested in Fashion Centre Wi-Fi can for a limited time try out the service for free, while subsequent time blocks can be purchased for anything from one hour to one month.

The new high-speed wireless Internet works with any operating system, Microsoft Windows (95-XP), Apple or Palm OS.
