Respawn Entertainment Developing A Star Wars Shooter
Respawn Entertainment, a game development studio, is rumored to be developing a new Star Wars shooter game, according to insider gaming expert Tom Henderson. Henderson recently hinted that this mystery game is something Star Wars fans have long been looking forward to.
In January 2022, Electronic Arts confirmed the development of a Star Wars game by Respawn Entertainment, an unnamed sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Veteran Star Wars developer, Peter Hirschmann, was named as the project’s leader.
According to sources from Insider Gaming, the unnamed Star Wars shooter by Respawn Entertainment will take you into the world of a mysterious Mandalorian Bounty Hunter during the rise of the Galactic Empire.
The game will require players to track down creatures with bounty on their heads and capture them, offering a wide array of weapons and gadgets, such as a rocket backpack, wrist rocket launcher, hook claw, and enemy marking visor.
The game’s protagonist boasts superior mobility, with abilities to sprint, jump, and roll. The game promises fast-paced gameplay and rewards skillful play (e.g., regains health for consecutive kills).
The Respawn Mandalorian game is expected to have a linear structure rather than an open-world setting, with separate stages set on different planets within the Star Wars universe. It’s unclear whether the game will feature a multiplayer mode.
Henderson claims that the Star Wars shooter by Respawn grew from the abandoned Titanfall Legends project, a game once touted for its emphasis on style and mobility by industry commentators Jeff Grubb and Jason Schreier.
The release date of the Respawn Mandalorian game is not yet known. According to the sources of Insider Gaming, we may have to wait at least one or even two years before the game becomes available.
