Computer case producer Hyte, known for its Y60 and Y70 panoramic view cases, has launched its first sealed liquid-cooling system, the THICC Q60. The new product includes an embedded computer, an IPS display mounted into the water block, and, according to the manufacturer, exceptional performance.
The THICC Q60’s components include a 120 x 288 x 52mm two-section radiator (240mm form factor) with two built-in pumps featuring ceramic impellers, which operate at speeds between 2000 and 4500 rpm.
The radiator is cooled by two proprietary THICC FP12 fans based on hydrodynamic bearings. The fans, measuring 120 x 120 x 32mm, operate at speeds from 0 to 3000 rpm. They can create an airflow of up to 105.8 CFM and high static pressure up to 8.14 mm H2O. The noise level ranges from less than 10 to 47.3 dBA at full load. The fans are interconnected using the Nexus Link Type-M magnetic mount.
The radiator and water block are connected by two 400mm-long rubber hoses with a nylon cover. The water block is equipped with a 56 x 56 x 1.5mm copper contact pad. Thanks to its large base, the water block is compatible with Ryzen Threadripper processors, although only from previous generations.
An adjustable bracket attaches a 5-inch IPS display to the water block. The display supports 720 x 1280 resolution (293 PPI pixel density), a 60 Hz refresh rate, and brightness of 300 cd/m2. The screen can display system status information, various static and animated images, and also features ARGB backlighting from the back.
The display unit includes a quad-core 64-bit Arm processor running at 1.3 GHz with an integrated iGPU at 500 MHz, an auxiliary 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4 processor, 2 GB of DDR4-2666 RAM, and 32 GB of eMMC flash memory.
Hyte claims that their innovative product outperforms all other leading competitors’ liquid-cooling systems on the market in terms of cooling performance.
“THICC Q60 delivers unbelievable thermal performance and contains an unthinkable amount of digital innovation. This 240mm LCS will crush any 360mm LCS of our competitors,” Hyte’s CCO Rob Teller stated.
According to Hyte, the THICC Q60 is capable of dissipating up to 356W of thermal energy from the central processor despite its relatively compact dimensions. This outperforms all leading LCS on the market, including 360mm radiator models. The company provided a performance chart comparing various LCS cooling a flagship 24-core Intel Core i9-14900KF processor.
The THICC Q60 is compatible with the Intel LGA 1700, LGA 1200, LGA 115X, LGA 2011, and LGA 2066, and with the AMD Socket AM5, AM4, and TR4 CPU sockets. Hyte includes mounting hardware for the Intel LGA 1700, 1200, and 115X and AMD Socket AM5 and AM4 in the packaging with the LCS.
The THICC Q60 is priced at $299.99 in the US and Canada, making it more expensive than the ASUS ROG Ryujin III 240mm LCS. Sales in other regions are scheduled to launch during the first quarter of this year.
